Weekend API testing

This is just a quick post about yesterday’s weekend testing Europe session about API testing. It was the first time I attended any of these events and it was certainly worthwhile. Amy Phillips lead through the session, which was more of an interactive chat session (reminded me of IRC back in the 90s, without the ever present flaming). The general outline of the 2 hour session was like this:

what is an API?
How can we test it?
Testing an actual API
Debriefing

The first two topics were especially interesting as I did not have contact with API testing before. I guess starting someone else’s API testing scripts from a batch doesn’t really count in this context. Testing was of course nice, too.

To sum it up: Those were two hours well spent, thank you. And I will certainly drop in for other sessions.

PS: Alan Richardson has written a review focusing on the content side. Be sure to have a look!
